Among much brilliant ceremonial, and in the presence of some fifteen thousand spectators, the Jubilee Statue was unveiled in Hong-Kong on May 28 by the Governor, Sir William Robinson. The statue was made by the well known sculptor Signor Raggi, firstly in marble and then in bronze, being commissioned for Hong-Kong. The statue was placed under a pavilion ofPortland Stone designed to protect it from the weather's ravages.
