Detailed map of Amoy Island (Xiamen) and vicinity, published by the British Admiralty in London. Lighthouses are shown in yellow and red. The small island of Kullangseu appears to the west of Amoy and both the residences of the British and German consuls are indicated. The Island of Quemoy is shown to the east.

Amoy was one of the five Treaty Ports open for trading after 1843. Now known as Xiamen it is one of the major cities on the southeast coast of China and an important part of Fujian Province.
